vFolders are an incredibly powerful (and NAPC unique exclusive) way to intelligently organize assets into groups based upon either their metadata or selecting them individually. You can turn any search criteria into a vFolder of Assets, or you can turn any basket into a vFolder!
For initial setup and management, log in to E6 as an administrator and go to Admin>Sites>Features>vFolders
Label - Virtual Folders title. Only letters, numbers and underscores are allowed.
Core users - These webnative users will always have full management access to any vFolder
Management groups - Members of these webnative groups will be able to create vFolders. Note: if no groups were selected, all users will be able to create vFolders.
User groups - Members of these webnative groups will be able to view vFolders. Note: if no groups were selected, all users will be able to view vFolders.
Max Assets in Static vFolder - Input maximum amount of assets (between 1 and 2000) that can be put into static vFolder. NOTE: high value may impact page loading performance.
Allow "Share All" - Check to allow sharing of vFolders with ANY other Webnative users. Uncheck to allow sharing only inside user's Webnative groups. NOTE: This setting is not applied to core users.
Active - You can make Virtual Folders temporarily unavailable for users.
vFolders menu can be found in Preferences
And in Options menu
You can create folders based on search results (Facets, Keywords, File Type, etc.)
Another type of vFolders - Static. Simply place files in your basket!
